The most serious, and common, side effect with Sarafem is a skin rash. If a skin rash develops while taking Sarafem, call a doctor right away. This is a sign of a serious problem and should not be ignored.
Some people have other more mild side effects with Sarafem. Those effects can include:
- nausea
- trouble sleeping
- drowsiness
- anxiety or nervousness
- weakness
- loss of appetite
- tremors
- dry mouth
- sweating
- decreased sex drive or impotence
- yawning
These side effects tend to go away within a few weeks of starting treatment. In most cases, they aren't serious enough to cause people to stop taking Sarafem.
